For Chanel’s Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection, Karl Lagerfeld presented us the history of the house of Chanel. He used silhouettes from previous seasons, upgraded them to be prettier than ever. Pretty was the theme. Parisienne chic was the mantra.

Combining past and present, work and pleasure, sexiness and comfort, Chanel presented its Métiers d’Art 2017/2018 collection in The Elbphilharmonie, a concert hall in the HafenCity quarter of Hamburg, Germany. This amazing piece of archtecture and Karl Lagerfeld’s hometown were the inspiration for this collection. The concert hall, formerly a warehouse is a symbol of how beautiful reinvention can be, which is what the House of Chanel under the creative wing of Kaiser Karl has been doing with such excellence all these years.

Style. We all have it whether we realize it or not. But what exactly is style? How can we define something so simple, yet so complex?
There are many definitions by famous fashion people. Diana Vreeland said that “Style helps you get down the stairs.” Gabrielle Chanel stated that “Chanel is above all a style.” The great beauty Lauren Hutton may have said the most accurate definition for style : “Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers. Style is what you choose.”

I always get excited about a Chanel show. It has it all, the clothes, the scenery, the music, the whole atmosphere is magical. But with this one, Karl outdid himself. I always wonder what will be the next theme, and what will the Chanel team now will think of, but I never possibly imagined that they will actually launch a rocket!

Pearls, pearls, pearls… Epitome of elegance, beauty and strength. They enchant us with their shine, color and their symbolic.
A pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue (specifically the mantle) of a living shelled mollusc. They come in various shapes such as round, semi-round, oval, button or drop and colors, mostly white, black, pink, champagne and even purple, but to collect enough of other colors except white to form a complete string would take years.
