Tom Ford Fall Winter 2016

He is one of the most innovative fashion designers of our time, a cultural icon and film director. Basically he is everywhere. Gaining fame for being the creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, and in 2006 launching his own label “Tom Ford”, he sure made a name for himself, and continues to make clothes that simply amaze me.

For the 10th year anniversary of his label, he ditched the classic time gap between showing the clothes on the runway and hitting the stores. Tom Ford’s new Fall Winter 2016 collection is his first Ready-to-Buy. Personally, I think that this approach is closer to the customers and buyers. Instead waiting for several months for that cute sparkly dress you saw last Fashion Week, you can buy it immediately and wear it with pride. You want it- you get it.

He invited fashion’s elite and his personal muses for a dinner turned fashion show which was held at the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York. This dinner party theme was previously used by fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, and it’s always a good idea.

Tom Ford Fall Winter 2016  is a beautiful collection. Inspired by the 70’s, you can see lots of brown and grey shades. He used various materials like leather, tweed, silk, herringbone and fur. The make up is very natural, a look that is very popular these days (and so liberating). The hair is also natural or low knot bun. Camouflage and animal prints are no strangers in Tom Ford’s world. He used them in this collection and mixed them perfectly. Coats are long and furry, the jewelry and the shoes are very unusual and futuristic. The classic Tom Ford man wears turtlenecks and jacket and that is shown is this collection. I like the sparkly skirts and dresses a lot, they add life to the whole autumn mood.

Don’t ever stop being creative Mr. Ford! I really appreciate his art and looking forward to his new movie Nocturnal Animals.

Yours fashionably,

Mademoiselle Matea
