When Fashion, Ballet and Impressionism meet

When one form of Art inspires another and another and another…

Edgar Degas’s ballet paintings are the inspiration behind this Harper’s Bazaar article. Photographers are Ken Browar and Deborah Oru, and Michelle Jank is the fashion editor.

The beautiful ballerina Misty Copeland is dancer for the American Ballet Theatre and is the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer in the ABT history. She channels Degas’s dancing girls so beautifully, and Impressionism looks so good on her, don’t you think so? On the photo above she is wearing Valentino Spring Summer 2016 dress.

Look at that pose! Makes me want to sign up to ballet classes! This Alberta Ferretti dress looks very comfortable for dancing, and the color is so subtle and beautiful and it allows you to play with the accessories.

This is one of my top 5 Spring Summer 2016 dresses. A beautiful Oscar De La Renta dress with embroidered corset and stunning skirt. And the shades of blue are perfect! Very beautiful photo.

Misty Copeland brings Degas’s Little Dancer to life! The resemblance is uncanny! She’s wearing Alexander McQueen dress.
