Let me take you on a journey into the very futuristic Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017 collection.
Location : Niterói Contemporary Art Museum, Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This modern masterpiece was completed in 1996. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer with the assistance of structural engineer Bruno Contarini, who had worked with Niemeyer on earlier projects, the Museum is 16 meters high. And as you can see on the picture above is a perfect setting for a fashion show.
With this collection Nicolas Ghesquière showed us that he is all about cuts, shapes and colors. This was the first look from the collection.
She looks like a commander from some futuristic Fashion army, ready to take on the world with only her top button tied. Which reminds me of the rappers back in the old school days when they used to tie up only the few upper buttons.
I liked the clothes very much, but personally I would wear only a few of them. For example this beautiful boho inspired dress pictured below.
And since LV is known to the wider public for its bags, you can find veriety of bags in this collection. They were all different shape, color or even theme.
When you are in Rio de Janeiro, you can’t get away from football. This game was even part of this collection as a print on the clothes and bags.
You can not imagine football without the shorts, right?
Probably the most stylish shorts I’ve ever seen.
As you can see the collection is a bit sporty. And there was very little make up on the models and the hair is natural. I admire the fact that for several past collections, stylist have chosen natural face and hair, which is so liberating, and the accent is put on the clothes and accessories.
I can not finish this post without mentioning these cute futuristic short dresses.
And their partners in crime – the skinny scarves.
The shoes varied from flip flop sandals, to cut boots, but the common thing was they were all flat.
Once more I have to congratulate Louis Vuitton for the choice on the setting. Just look at the models perfectly blend in with this space-ship-like museum and the curved line where the guest sit. Bravo!
