Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2017

The San Francisco born hip hop boy, one of my personal favorite designers showed us once again, that he is making the coolest clothes right now. Everybody wants to be #WANGSQUAD.

His show was held on 10th September in New York, was mixture of his old and new collection. While the guests were all wearing clothes from his Fall Winter 2016, the models walked the runway in next year’s biggest trends.

Although summer is slowly coming to its end, Alexander makes us to pack our bags and go live somewhere tropical. Somewhere you can wear his very cool surfer shorts and rock those beachy waves.

For the first peaces he used light and pastel colors. On the women’s wear the accent is on the waist, there are lots of bra tops, and the models wore very cool belted flip-flop sandals, which I absolutely loved. The dresses are short, very very very cute and made for night out and dancing. I also liked the neon details, which give some fun attitude to the whole outfit.

For men’s wear it was all about sweatshirts and shorts. The male models took me back to my childhood days, they all looked like those surfer guys from TV series I used to have a crush on. Actually surfing was reportedly the inspiration behind this collection. Eighteen models had their hair bleached and chopped, to resemble the ’70s Australian surfer hair – blond with dark roots.

Alexander Wang also unveiled his collaboration with Adidas Originals. The whole squad wore black T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and pants. He had the Adidas logo turned upside down. Wang said : “I looked at what’s theirs, what they own, and I flipped it, literally and aestetically.” This project was a year in the making and the whole collection is unisex.

All hail the Urban Wear King
