Burberry Fall Winter 2017

Wait, is this Haute Couture or Ready-To-Wear? I’m confused…

The deconstructive collection had it all, pearls, feathers, nylon, lace, knit, wool, you name it, Burberry had it.

If the brand wanted to tell us they can do arsty, they did.

The show began with a very daring trench coat, succeeded by shirts with Mucnch-like portraits, Basquiat-like faces on sweaters, Elizabethan ruffle collars, metal capelets and statuesque outerwear. The bags were outstanding as ever.

Alexander Wang Fall Winter 2017

With a collection as dark as a moonless night, Alexander showed us again that you can never own too much black. Making it his official color, it’s almost unbelievable how the designer plays with one particular color, season after season.

The party boy of Fashion with this collection tells us that there’s no after party, pants should follow the figure, over-sized jackets are still in and chains make the best bracelets.

That 70’s show – Prada Pre-Fall 2017

Looking at Prada’s fresh new collection is like browsing through my father’s old picture book. It has it all, the knits, the newsboy’s cap, the waist belt coats, the V-necks and of course the leather.

Since fall is sweater weather, Prada makes sure you buy yours from them. They give us variety of sweaters to choose from, one-colored, multi-colored, with abstract knit, with buttons, without buttons, whatever you desire. And lots of scarves!

Over the years, Dior has been in a devoted relationship with modern male style icons, who represent the idea behind the house’s successful male line. Moisturize through winter

For those of us who don’t have the privilege to live somewhere where there’s no winter, and instead of going outside and enjoy the sunbeams, we curl up in bed with a book and a cup of hot tea, I have some advice. Cold weather is not your skin’s friend. It dries it up, and makes you feel like you are medieval stone statue.

I myself have very sensitive skin, she notices atmosphere temperature changes so good that she can major in meteorology.

I searched and searched for ways to prepare my skin for cold weather and make her look and feel good. And this is what I learned and practice so far :

Moisturize, Drink plenty of water, Eat your vitamins!

ABC of Fashion – A-Line

The dress/skirt shape that looks good on everyone and can be found in almost every collection in the history of Fashion. The A-line.

Although this style exists as long as people thrive on this planet, the term was first used by His Majesty Christian Dior, to describe his Spring 1955 collection.

It was the biggest trend those days! Known as “most wanted silhouette in Paris” it was widely popularized by Yves Saint Laurent, who back then was the hottest designer.

The Originals

Back in the days when there were no Instagram, hashtags and followers, the fashion industry was not like it is today. The term “social media” didn’t even existed, unlike today when it’s very important for a model to have 300 000 + followers on various social networks. Models in the 90’s didn’t have to take behind-the-scenes selfies and couldn’t tag the makeup artists and hairdressers. But they were Supermodels, and that was far more important than likes, comments and shares.

Fashion and Art, Gustav Klimt

Two timeless social phenomenons, both adaptable to changes and both expressing their time. Fashion and Art. Mothers of an aesthete.

I fell in love with them from my early days, back in the time when my mom used to read me stories and I asked her to show me our “History of Art” encyclopedia.

And there I stumbled across one painting that took my breath away even though it was a print in a book. Her majesty, The Kiss by Gustav Klimt.
