Gucci Spring Summer 2017

Welcome to the beautiful, dark, twisted, ’70s disco inspired fantasy of Alessandro Michele and Gucci.

Here heels are high, colors are strong and sunglasses are shiny.

This 75 piece collection has everything. From wide-leg pants, to romantic sheer dresses and turbans. There were many prints, mixed in a way that only Alessando can.

While watching it I felt like I was at a circus or ’70s themed party. Everything sparkled. And every outfit was very different from the previous one. You see this model wearing Victorian dress and the next thing you see is shiny pink matador inspired outfit.

Vera Wang Spring Summer 2017

Floral prints for spring? No, Vera Wang doesn’t follow the mass.

Famous for her love for black, she found inspiration in the darkest of colors once again. Vera doesn’t think like the majority of fashion people, and rebelled against the light-colors-for-warm-seasons unwritten rule.

In her Spring Summer 2017 collection she used just two colors – black and white. Opposites attract after all.

Oscar de la Renta Spring Summer 2017

Welcome to the simple, romantic and magical life of Oscar de la Renta and his 10 helpers (studio team designers). I’m Mademoiselle M and I will be your host.

Held at the Morgan Library in New York, the collection was very beautiful. First it started with few clean white peasant dresses, which for me are epitome of warmer days. Then we were shown more bold designs and colors, black and strong red dresses, and the classic Oscar de la Renta safari jacket and pants.

After them, on the runway walked few oriental princesses, who by the way, were the only models from the collection who wore earrings. Well, they are royalty after all. The dresses, crop tops and pants were amazing, each more beautiful and exotic than the previous.

Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2017

The San Francisco born hip hop boy, one of my personal favorite designers showed us once again, that he is making the coolest clothes right now. Everybody wants to be #WANGSQUAD.

His show was held on 10th September in New York, was mixture of his old and new collection. While the guests were all wearing clothes from his Fall Winter 2016, the models walked the runway in next year’s biggest trends.

Although summer is slowly coming to its end, Alexander makes us to pack our bags and go live somewhere tropical. Somewhere you can wear his very cool surfer shorts and rock those beachy waves.

Tom Ford Fall Winter 2016

He is one of the most innovative fashion designers of our time, a cultural icon and film director. Basically he is everywhere. Gaining fame for being the creative director at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, and in 2006 launching his own label “Tom Ford”, he sure made a name for himself, and continues to make clothes that simply amaze me.

For the 10th year anniversary of his label, he ditched the classic time gap between showing the clothes on the runway and hitting the stores. Tom Ford’s new Fall Winter 2016 collection is his first Ready-to-Buy. Personally, I think that this approach is closer to the customers and buyers. Instead waiting for several months for that cute sparkly dress you saw last Fashion Week, you can buy it immediately and wear it with pride. You want it- you get it.

Those who seek beauty will find it – Bill Cunningham

Fashion Week. A full month dedicated to clothes. On the runway and on the streets. Fashionistas from all around the world gather at four different cities and show who they are through their clothes. And there are the street style photographers to capture their identity. Whether you wear a Dolce gown, Chanel suit or Balmain dress, it doesn’t matter to them. What matters is how originally you chose your outfit and with how much confidence you wear it.

This subject was on my post-it notes for about a month now, but I have all these exams, and so little time for fashion. Today, the pioneer of street style photography passed away, so I have to pay homage to him and express my gratitude towards the greatest.

Dior Cruise 2017

It’s Cruise shows time! And as always I’m very excited. The clothes, the locations and the story behind them are different from all other collections and that makes them very special and exotic.

On 31.05.2016 we’ve been blessed to watch the first Dior collection since Raf Simons departed from this major fashion house. It was presented in the Blenheim Palace in London. For a collection that was designed without creative director it was surprisingly good. I’ve read comments on various social media, a lot of people criticized the collection, saying it was very plain and not Dior at all. But I don’t think so. My relationship with Dior Cruise 2017 was love at first look. Just look at this masterpiece:

The Empress of Fashion

Long before Anna Wintor’s reign started, there was one particularly creative and influential woman – Diana Vreeland.

Called the Empress of Fashion, she was fashion editor of Harpers’s Bazaar and Vogue, and special consultant at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Probably the first person to turn museum into a nightclub, she was a fearless woman who knew no boundaries.

Fashion and Art, Jean-Aguste-Dominique Ingres

Two social phenomenons, both expressing their time. Two different things that go so well together like coffee and newspaper in the morning. Or tea, whichever you prefer 😉

Fashion and Art. Nothing inspires Fashion more than Art, and Art is the best way to express Fashion. Perfect combination. They have one major thing in common – they both use fabric as their tool.

I decided to write something like this because from very young age, I admire these two subjects, and growing up I realized their link. This is my first post with this title, but I will write more, because they both are endless inspiration to me.
